Re: Best credit reporting service

USAA CMS is the most preferred, at least my me, and I've tried a LOT of them.

5/2012: 560 credit scores across the board
12/2014: 750+
3/2017: 780+
11/2019: 833
2/2023: Experian via Chase United Explorer CC pull - 891

Re: Best credit reporting service

Ditto to USAA.....just ignore the scores and advice since they aren't FICO-related and lenders don't use them.

What many of us do is pair up daily pulls through services like USAA's and as we see changes to our CR, we come back here to pull our FICO score.

Re: Best credit reporting service

I've been useing the AmEx one and it's not bad in my opinion.  I still use MyFico though for my actual CREDIT SCORE!

Re: Best credit reporting service

I assume anyone can sign up for the CMS, or is that still restricted to active duty members/family members of military?

Do they do a hard pull when you initially sign up for membership, or is that only if you were to sign up for a savings/checking/CC?

Thanks.

No hard pull at all for the CMS, only softs. I believe they take anyone for the CMS as well, but they'll verify eligibility for insurance, and maybe some of the other financial products (not sure on that). There should only be a hard pull for a credit product (CC, etc.)

+1 for the CMS.
