Hi! I have a collection agency contacting me regarding an account that is probably about 10 years old. I pulled all three credit reports and this account is not on any of them. Even the collection agency is not listed on the reports. I'm guessing it dropped from the reports because it's over 7 years old. The SOL in my state is six years. I hadn't received any communication regarding this account in all these years and now I'm getting bombarded with collection letters. What should I do? I think they found me because I updated information on my credit reports. I'm thinking about ignoring these letters since its a 10-year old account; but I don't want them to continue receiving them, either. Any advice?
