CAs Talking to Spouses?

Always been a question - can or should any creditor (an OC or CA) talk to a spouse about an account that is NOT a joint account?  And threaten the spouse as to their "life together" because of this matter?

"Asset Acceptance' called here for DH for a Household Bank account (never had one that I know of) and threatend "our credit".  I responded that
(1) why are you discussing this with me - I am not the account holder (answer: but you're his wife and this affects you)
(2) Are you threatening to place this on my reports? (answer:NO)
(3) Told him we're getting divorced and to leave me alone

Do not wait.....sent a letter telling them NO CALLS!!!!  it doesn't need any other info. They will be in violation if they call even 1 time!
