CITI Finacial can they report a larger amount

Hey Fellow FICO'S, I have a question. I have a CITI Fin personal loan. The amount was for 7500.00 and it shows up on my credit as 13899.00. It would be that after 5 years and all the interest I guess. Can that hurt my Fico score being that amount. I called and asked what the Pay off was. They told me 6231.00. It just seems weird they would report a different amount. I have never been late or missed a payment on this loan. Just curious. Thank You

Is the account Installment or Revolving? The interest you end up paying wouldn't show up on your reports. You should see the limit as $7500 with a $6231 balance. Make them change it.

Technically yes, but depending on how it reports will determine if the OP should care.

They always report that way...I asked them to change mine and they will NOT.
