I've read other threads but can't figure out an answer just a bunch of people arguing.
Also the oc owns the debt and is not reporting anything on my cr but the ca is.
If you can pay the OC, that means the OC still owns the debt.
Paying the debt terminates the basis for any continued collection activity by the debt collector, as there would be no remaining debt.
If the OC had previously reported, they would have to update the status of their reporting to paid, and the balance due to $0. That is totally separate and apart from any reporting by the debt collecor. If they had not previously reported, there is nothing credit reporting wise for them to do.
Upon satisfaction of the debt, the debt collector must report a $0 balance due for collection, and close the collection.
It makes no difference who you paid, as long as it was considered paid. Both parties then show $0 balance.
