Cancelling a new card

Hello,

Just recently opened a new bank account with Wells Fargo and got signed up for the Rewards Credit card. No clue why I really signed up for the card. But this happened less than 2 weeks ago. I was wondering if I close the account how much of a negative hit will my credit score take. I realized that I already have 5 other cards and do not need another 1.

See if you can cancel it before it reports.

Thanks for the welcome. How would I go about checking to see if it is reported?

You'd have to look at your credit reports.

It's very likely that it will show up regardless of whether you keep it open.

It won't hurt your FICO score unless your average age of accounts is significantly lowered.

Ok I see what you're saying. Guess there is no problem in just keeping it open. Guess I'll just throw it into the "sock drawer".
