I was pleased when I logged on to the Capital One website to see that they're offering free credit scores through their Credit Tracker service (I didn't see "FICO" anywhere though.) It's "powered" by Trans Union.
My issue is that I happen to have a PSECU account which gives me an honest-to-God FICO score, powered by TU. It's in the low 800's each month. Alas, this CapOne score is 768. Nothing has changed dramatically in the past month so I wouldn't expect a credit drop of anything close to this magnitude.
I know both are excellent scores, but a 50 point differential? What's the deal? Does anyone know whether the Cap One score is legit or is it another FAKO?
I think I answered my own question. From the FAQ:
"Your Credit Tracker score is based on the TransUnion New Account model and is intended for consumer informational purposes only." FAKO.

Is this for people who have checking/savings account too? I have never found the info on my CC account.
i believe the cap1 TU score is a FAKO.
interestngly, my cap1 TU FAKO was 792, higher than my late March TU FICO (787)
The Cap-1 score is definitely a FAKO...
It is probably the same as Credit Karma.
For me, both the scores as of now are the same. The Cap One tracker showed a few more "indicators" than Credit Karma, such as "Available credit" and "Oldest Credit line" which in essence are repackaging of info that I can see on CK. Both are powered by TU.
Also, not a FICO. My FICO from Discover said 660. CK / Cap One says 605 !
PSECU is EX 08, and the Cap One score is a FAKO derived from Credit Karma.
These scores may diverge from each other in arbitrary ways.
Definitely a FAKO score. Last time I checked, I had like a 618 ("poor" on Credit Karma's scale), completely different from what my FICO scores have said and because of the inquries I had accumulated in a short time.
