Re: Citi Provides Free Equifax Score

Wow, that was hostile!  I'll back off.  Sorry pal.

Of items 1-4, #1 could not have been attributable to SJ.  Since you said that you based your other items partly on stuff SJ has said about his own profile, at least one of the remaining three had to be things you had in mind, so I figured I'd ask about them.  I can see that asking upset you, so again I apologize

SJ has indeed be allowing more than one card to report, but he's got maybe 20 of them?  (I don't know exactly how many but it's close to that.)  So a few cards out of 20 is still most reporting $0.  Which I think is what I said.

Sorry for being unclear about how much higher my BE score is.  It's not a couple points higher but about 35 points higher (810 vs. 845)  And during the time that I began applying for a lot of cards, the gap between the two scores widened, which is not what one would expect if BE was bothered by new accounts more than Classic.  That's why I said that the hit (duing that time) to my Classic was worse.  Not just the score itself but the hit.

Still of course as I said my own case might be a fluke -- I did approach my own testimony (as it were) with a fair amount of humility.  That's still true -- you may be right and my score results may have been some weird outlier.

Re: Citi Provides Free Equifax Score

Hey -

I went back over SJs posts and indeed he reported his Bankcard score was far, far lower than other Fico scores. However, my memory was a bit fuzzy - he was referring to EX Fico Bankcard score 2. He went on to say his highest 2 scores were a Bankcard score 8 and a Bankcard score 9 which is in-line with what I would expect with clean files having scores above 780 ... or so.

SJ was reporting balances on 7 to 8 cards recently per this link:

http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Understanding-FICO-Scoring/Equifax-AND-Experian-tax-lien-removal-sco...

Also, he did post some rather high utilizations for awhile (see below paste). I would anticipate Bankcard scores may have changed even more than Classic but, no data shown for Bankcard scores.
