Closed Accounts on Reports

How long does a closed credit card acct remain on credit report?  My Equifax does indicate  accounts closed but continues to list them, including previous mortgage, and auto loans.

Re: Closed Accounts on Reports

They normally stay 10 years from the date of closing.

And they are a good thing - they keep your average age up.  They count towards age as long as they are there

Re: Closed Accounts on Reports

I have 34 accts showing on my CR, with only 7 active.  Acct was "flagged" indicating FICO may be hurting due to so many accts.  EQUIFAX: 813
