Collection accounts...

Ok, so how do you know who is doing the reporting on a collection account? Is it the collection agency themselves or is it the original creditor? Also, if I send a letter to an OC, can they remove it if it's reported by a CA?
Thanks

Every company that reports gives their complete name and address.....Cap1....HSBC  etc.
A CA does the same...the CA might say who they are collecting for (name but no addy)

You can give the name in here or google it.

An OC does not have to do anything unless you dispute & if verified .......then you send an OC letter.....then they must send required info.    They do not have to delete or have an assigned CA delete.  They can do nothing if they sold the account!!!  If the account was sold then you must deal with the CA (as far as PFD or PIF)  The OC can continue to report the CO for the full 7 years   pais or unpaid!!

Please read this thread it contains the abbrevs that we use & freq.requested thread full of info.
