Paying a collection, unless it is agreed to be a PFD does not to help your FICO score. the model will still consider the late payment history. HOWEVER depending on the size of the debt, i can prevent it from being sold over and over a gain and keep it oout of the hands o zombie debt collectors that have been known to wreak havoc years later.
