Credit Freeze and new account with existing creditor

Hypothetical question: If I have a freeze on my report with all 3 bureaus, and I go to buy a car using financing from the same company I have an existing auto loan with, will they be able to do that without me lifting the freeze? I know existing creditors can pull your report but not sure if the freeze prevents them from opening a new account or not.

Thanks!

I would think they would want to pull your credit, and the freeze would prevent that. You may want to find out which one they will pull and unfreeze that one. Then freeze it again.

Can existing creditors do soft pulls while in a credit freeze? I assume they can but I'm not certain.

Most likely though I think they would require a hard pull for dredit app

Hmm, I thought the only exception to a freeze was for existing creditors, but I never heard if it was hard or soft they were allowed. I assumed hard was allowed.
