Hello fellow myFICO members, I am trying to learn what the best resources are out there to understand as much as possible about credit. Also, I want to know if there is a certification or license somewhere (U.S.) that I may work towards obtaining. While I feel I have sufficient knowledge of the subject and can hold my own there are many intricasies of the credit world that I simply am not aware of.
So does any one know how I can work to being able to be a Credit Repair Person? I am not looking to make a career out of this but maybe a hobby that also helps me learn more overall about credit.
Thank you in advance.
Anybody?
The Consumer Data Industry Association (CDIA) is part of the Metro 2 Task Force, and is the organization used by the CRAs to develop their standard credit reporting manual, known as the Credit Reporting Resource Guide.
CDIA, in fact, holds the copyright to that manual.
They offer certification courses, not cheap, and would be my first contact if interested in becoming a certified credit repair specialist.

You have to give any discussion forum site at least a day for responses and even then responses are not guaranteed -- especially when you're asking a question that really isn't the focus of the site. There are some in the credit industry here but most are consumers looking to build/rebuild credit.
If you need a more immediate response then a discussion forum site is the wrong tool for the job.
I think RobertEG has offered the best advice regarding any certification. If you are looking simply to improve your own credit or help friends, the "Rebuilding" forum is the best place on our site to scour. Please note that if you were to become a Credit Repair professional, you may not be able to take all actions outlined in that Forum on behalf of clients, since there are specific guildlines in place on what can and cannot be done.
Thank you for this kind advice all.
