Hello,
I am thinking about getting the Discover It basically because I heard you can get your FICO score for free. Do you get your FICO score for all 3 credit reporting agencys? How often does your score get updated ?
I have good credit and high enough limits right now so I would be shocked if I didnt get approved. I have a couple VISA credit cards and one AMEX so Im also thinking that having a Discover would be good.
Does Discover It have an EMV version?
Thanks for your help !

You'll only get a FICO score for TU, the TU08 version I believe.
As far as I know, they do not offer an EMV version.

Discover It gives you the TU08 score that is updated every month with your statement.

As far as I know, I haven't heard of an EMV version of the Discover It card, but others may know something I don't.
Thanks for your help !

So... is the TU08 version accurate or are they using a new model and the TU08 is some ancient forumla?

TU08 is a newer model that more lenders are starting to use. I believe most lenders use TU04.

For credit cards '08 is where it's at anecdotally, though likely half use a bankcard-enhanced industry option but the '08 score will be closer for the vast majority of people I suspect. Mortgages are still '04, might change after Fannie/Freddie apparently get whacked if other organizations will be portfolioing mortgages which may have different underwriting criteria.

Don't get IT because of a free score. I love my IT because of the rotating rewards categories and it's a decent card. IF you are only looking for a card with a free score, don't fret because I believe soon most cards are going to offer a monthly score. Discover just started not too long ago, along with many others.

I hear Barclaycards have it too. I don't have a Barclaycard so I don't know for sure how often they update the scores. I believe theirs is TU 08 also?
