Do collections stop affecting score ever?

I was wondering if a collection ever stops hurting your score before it is removed. My spouse has 2 that is paid, have been paid for nearly 2 years and they will not be removed for another 2 and 3 years.

Have tried GW......no success........the CA is local and is one of the worse I've dealt with.

Re: Do collections stop affecting score ever?

When my CA dropped off after nearly 7 years my scores went up 50 points.  But it was my only baddie, so it was a big jump
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: Do collections stop affecting score ever?

I just got off the phone with a local one as well who is NOT willing to budge and making me mad!!!

I know as they age, they affect the score less and less. Right now they probably aren't affecting the score very much, BUT if you were able to totally get them removed, I'm sure it would probably increase your score. Mine has increased by getting some deleted. Good luck to you
