In my opinion you would be better served by initiating a voluntary credit freeze on all of your credit reports.

The freeze can be lifted later on.

Specifically, when you get your fraud alert letter, you will want to request your free full credit report  from each burea that  you are entitled to, and then review the report to be sure that there are no new addresses reported, and that there are no new inquiries reporting that you did not initiate.
