Does The Total # of Accounts ...

effect my FICO score? I have 25 open accounts (many are student loans) and many have passed the 7 year mark to fall off the report.

Re: Does The Total # of Accounts ...

While the FICO scoring formula considers the number of accounts on file and the mix of different types of accounts, it does not specifically look at the number of open vs. closed accounts.

Thanks for the info. What can I do about getting these accounts off of my record?

Closed accounts should drop off after 10 years.
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Remember... closed  (non-derog) accounts stay on your reports for 10 yrs from the date closed.
