They have the right to sue in either..........I would go by the 6 years SOL

Some states are using SOL for open accounts (typy of loan)  which would be 3 years in NH

Maine  would be 6 years for both.

The account was opened in 2002/03. Probably 2003. The collection just showed up on my credit report as of 6/2007(Date opened on credit report).

I was planning on sending them a DV but not sure which return address to use. My parents who live in New Hampshire(SOL here is 3 yrs from what I see) or MA (6 years).

Just want to cover my bases and Im not sure if it matters which address I give even.

Any thoughts?

what address is on your CR   and where did you take the account out? Also when did you stop paying?

SOL goes by DOLA ( which in this case would be last payment).

I recently moved out of my parents but the address has been updated to my current MA address. I guess that would be the address I use. The account was opened in NH.

I dont know what the DOLA is but it was definitely sometime in 2003. The account only says:

Date opened: 6/2007
OC: Verizon
Reported Since: 9/2007
Date of Status : 9/2007
Last Reported: 1/2008
Status Details: Account scheduled to go on record till Dec 2010

Do any of these details help?
