Hi,

I've been reading post for several weeks now and I am finally ready to get some advice. I'm interested in purchasing my first home in January 2009. My scores are 504, 510, 515. What would be the first thing I would need to do to improve my scores and improve my chances of getting a loan by this time.

Visit the General Credit Issues forums and get some ideas on cleaning up your credit.

Start out by getting copies of your current credit reports. Go to annualcreditreport.com and scrub them for inaccuracies, then follow the advice on the boards about writing GW letters and such to get baddies removed.

Must get all 3 credit reports to start. There is a link to Free Annual Credit Report,(acr) in my signature.
