IF YOU OPEN AN NEW ACCOUNT IT SHOULD DROP YOUR SCORE EVEN IF YOU HAVE NOT USED THE CARD, ALSO YOU WILL HAVE  NEW INQUIRIES TOO. 3 NEW INQUIRIES AND A NEW OPEN ACCOUNT COULD DROP YOUR SCORE BY 19 POINTS

Hi rip1234 and welcome to myFICO.

19 points? May I ask where you got the formula to determine exactly how certain actions result in x number of points lost?

This may have been your personal experience but everyone's credit profile is different and constantly changing and therefore a new account and inquiry (or any credit decision) might very well affect 5 different people 5 different ways.
