Eliminate ID theft (EIT) is a SCAM!!

I recently signed up for Eliminate ID theft/ My Privacy Matters and was under the impression that I would be able to see any daily activity going on in my credit report. Well its day 2 now and I'm still seeing the same report I pulled from the day before. I called EIT and the rep told me it only updates ONCE A MONTH unless someone is trying to open an account under your name THEN you will be alerted. NOT WHAT I PAID FOR. I wanted daily updated credit report pulls.

You can only update your report every 24 hrs. + 1 minute. You need to click on 'Request a new report' in blue on the upper right side of your report.

The CSRs at EIDT aren't usually very helpful.

EIDT has a  kludgy interface but that doesn't make it a scam.  As indicated above and in countless threads -- including the CMS thread -- it's literally 24 hours between updates.  If you try earlier you reset the clock.

From what I recall, EIDT is reselling MPM so I wouldn't expect much in the way of accurate product info from EIDT CSR's.  As always, validate, corroborate, etc.

+1, Their user interface looks very dull.  like somebody put it together in about 30 min.

As far as them being a scam (perhaps), I say that because, when I first signed up for their daily pull, like I said other than their UI, I was cool with it.

But then like a week or 2 after, I caught their hand in a cookie jar. They try to compromise my cap 1 credit card account by putting a charge of 1 dollar(I'll bet this was a test to see if they can get away with it sort of). Unfortuneately for them, I was on top of my game and I let them know what they tried to do and I cancelled it.

IMHO, Hell yeah they are scammers. (but then again, who really isnt, now freakin days).

On a side note, after cancelling EDIT, or what eva tha f*** they them selves, I signed up with USAA and I could not be happier(daily pull for 11.37 a month).

So my personal advice to the OP is, go ahead and sign up with USAA for daily pull.

p.s. usaa will charge u 22.95 a month for a daily pull. but call them and let them know that u would like to get the daily pull for half the price of 22.95.

Thats what I did and I got this info obviously from myfico forum.

Good luck OP

MPM is good for one thing, and one thing only.

I personally didn't like MPM, which is the service through eliminateID - clunky interface, etc but i got what they promised: daily pulls. Every 24 hours, you need to request a new report. So I don't see that as a Scam at all since you got what they advertised. I no longer have the service since the free services are sufficient for my needs.
