Equifax Security Freeze

I tried to put a security freeze on my Equifax report online but wouldn't you know it, the darn thing would not go through. Got a message that Equifax wants me to mail in my full name, complete mailing address, ssn, & d.o.b.

Even though all of this information was included in the online form.

Is it possible to call Equifax to have the security freeze placed???

Look for their fax number and fax it. Faster x1000

800-685-1111 is the # to freeze on a hard copy credit report from 2/19/16. No quarantee it will work, I have no luck with EQ. I tried to correct my name & now have a fraud alert placed by EQ that shows on all 3 CRA. They are the worst

Do it by phone. Its easier and faster, you can email the documents as well if they need. Phone number is 1-888- 298-0045
