Most use 04 but more and more are using 08. I don't believe there is a huge difference between the two.

Is that the one you get if you purchase it from here? I'm not well versed in the different versions.
The one you purchase on MyFico.com is TU 98 Classic.
In summary, there are 6 places where you can get Free FICO scores.
Walmart CC: TU 08 Classic
DCU checking + CC: EQ 04 Classic
Merrick CC: TU 08 Bankcard Enhanced.
PSECU CC: EX 04 Classic (Need to be a pennsylvania resident to join)
FNBO CC: EX 08 Bankcard Enhanced
Barclay's CC: TU 08 Classic
Below is a table I put together of all the different FICO versions (49 of them), where you can obtain them, and which lenders pulls them. Hope it helps.
Wow - that's detailed and does help. Thanks!!

I think there is a huge difference between the two especially if you're new to credit.
I have a credit history of 2 years and 3 months with AAoA of 9 months.
Last 04 score that was pulled was EQ with 681.
Last 08 EX was 757 (pulled the same day as EQ 04).
Last 08 pulled was TU with 762.
I checked the CR and they are identical except for a few inquiries difference but no where near enough to cause that big of a difference if they were truely similar.

What do most lenders use/pull? That's what matter most.
I'm just gatering information. Please, no dispatch!!

I reckon all of these people finally realised that since they're paying for it anyway when they soft the reports, they should just let the customer see it.

Actually, I think there was an article back in 2011 in which the CEO? or someone from FICO said they are pushing banks to start offering their customers free FICO scores.
Personally, I don't know why they didn't do so earlier. They SP you all the time. It would be so easy for them to show you your score right now.
This is what it shows under tools & education
i have a NFL card, got my score after the url trick thanks a lot
