Getting an old closed account reported to a bureau

I studied my reports thoroughly and found why my Experian AAoA is so much lower than the other 2. A company I dealt with back in 2000 had 3 accounts with me and reported to 2 of the 3 bureaus. They didn't report to Experian. I'm wondering if I called them, if they would report those 3 accounts to Experian (even though they are paid and closed).....???

I know that's crazy thinking and a long shot, but if they were to do that for me, my Experian AAoA would shoot up and so would my score.... Right now I got 6 years with Eq and Tu, and 4 yrs 8 months with Ex. Those 3 accounts pack a whopping 13 years a piece. Smiley Surprised

Anyone think I got a shot.......?

Myfico scores.....
EX... 805 (11-10-13)
EQ... 810 (12-02-13)
TU... 810 (12-02-13)

Smiley Very Happy........Loving the optimism!

Oh well, THANK GOD Experian is the most forgiving on AAoA. With a year and a half less AAoA, the score is still higher than Equifax. Smiley Surprised

No chance of them adding it, in fact they may delete it from the other two bureaus if you call and ask.

Re: Getting an old closed account reported to a bureau

Closed in 2005.......I know, I know, they'll disappear into space in 2 years, lol, but a thought hit me right before I started this thread that I could use their score boost over the next 2 years.

I guess I shouldn't care, my scores are high, I just have gotten greedy since I've been on this site and I'm craving the 800 mark from ALL 3.....Smiley Very Happy

Re: Getting an old closed account reported to a bureau

Yeah, if you have no current customer relationship with them they have little motivation to do you any favors.

But then again, people have been successful in getting GW deletes on 5yo accounts, where again they have little incentive to do you any favors.

So it can't hurt to ask.  I'd just advise having your argument prepped so you can state it as briefly and logically as possible.  The more you waste time they could be spending on actual customers, the less likely they'll be to do anything. Concise and cordial for the (hopeful) win.

If they say no, though, I wouldn't sweat it.  An AAoA of 4 yrs+ is far from bad. And it sounds like your scores are fine - you're just trying to collect all the GameCenter achievement badges.  Smiley Very Happy
