Good news and a question!

I want to thank all the contributors to this forum. Since finding this forum I have upped my scores an average 65 points on all 3 agencies.

I have an old crefit card account that is reporting date of last activity as 2004 I haven't used that card in about 6 years. It should fall off in 7 years and they say it will fall off in 2011. This account was charged off has not been used in like I said about 6 years. So the fall off should be before 2011. The creditor closed the account in nov 2004. The past due dates are as follows.

Can they still report past due as early as sep 07? Even though the account was closed in 2004 hasn't been used since before 20004? Are they reaging this account?

I disputed the fall out date and it came back as verified I know this is no true.

Congrats on the score increase!!

So you think you haven't used the card in 6 years... which would bring it back to 2001?  Something doesn't sound right as the first delinquency is 2005.  Any way you can cut and paste more on that TL?  Does it still carry a balance ( I assume so since it's still reporting as late)?

Re: Good news and a question!

I have the same exact problem. I bet your card is a capital one, isnt it? Mine was a charge-off acount from Nov. 2003 which I paid in full back in 2003. I have no balance and the account was closed and they are, to this day, still reporting paid as agreed some months and other months they are reporting charge off. I have disputed  mine as inaccurate info with eq. I am still waiting to see what happens. Capital One did call me about 2 days later but I never called them back.

If the date of last activity and the date due to be deleted are 7 years apart it is correct.  You say you havent used the card in about six years but were you making payments up until 2004?  The account should have been charged off at the max within 180 days of you last payment.

That being said if the DOLA was 2004 the reporting doesn't seem to be affecting the time it will remain on your reports. It should not be reporting as late it should be reporting as cahrge off all those months.  Not sure which you would rather have.
