[HELP] a letter from Credit Collection Services from Newton, MA

Today I received a letter from "Credit Collection Services" claiming that I owe $63.60 to Farmers Insurance. It also said that I closed my policy with Farmers on 04/08/2008, but I closed my policy in 2005. Then I got suspicious so I  searched for the CA's name online and found that they are scam artists. My credit rating has been excellent and I don't want this scam artists messing up my credit. Where do I go from here?

Send them a DV letter.

 

You can also call Farmers Insurance and ask them if you owe any money and find out what is going on.  If it turns out you do owe them ask to pay them directly.  Also find out if they sold the account to a CA.
