If you didn't include WaMu/Providian in your bankruptcy they will approve you. Just be well aware of the terms and conditions. Providian was considered a predatory lender but WaMu is pretty straightforward. Good Luck!

Thank you BMax.

Re: Hello. I have a question about wamu/providian. I recently...

I get preapproval offers from Wamu almost monthly. However, I have been reluctant to apply because I have 2 other credit cards one with a $400 limit and the other with a $500 limit. Getting another card with a limit this low is a waste of my time. Anyone have an idea of the type of credit line I might receive from WAMU with credit scores that average around 640?

Yes, my score is 640 with TU. Do you think they will give me a CL of $1,500 or higher? I'd had to add another inquire to my file for a $500 CL.

Thanks!

I really must chime in here. Wamu is simply the best! They helped me when no one else would.....preapproved, applied then got a starting $1,500 limit with high 5s and bk in 2000. For this I will Always faithfully pay and stay loyal forever. :smileyhappy:

You also get a free bankcard enhanced REAL FICO score on their website.

How does this work?  Which CR (EX, EQ, or TU) do they use for the score?  How often can you get an updated score?

PFICO is the FICO score which Providian (WaMu) pulls for their own internal account review procedures. It is the bankcard-enhanced version.

Thanks Tusc.  Is it at all comparable to any of the FICOs or  FAKOs?

It is your FICO. Its the only non-myfico.com that offers a TU FICO. Just remember.. it is bankcard enhanced.. so it may not be exactly what you see here.
