The only real purpose of this is a credit applicatio (mortgage/auto). If you are doing this be aware that Chase now reports balances several times a month , not just at the end of the cycle so it's a little bit more tricky now if you have Chase cards.

? Does Chase routinely report multiple times per month? I haven't seen this, but I have only one Chase card and don't use it often so I might not know. But in my experience, Chase reports only on the statement date OR any time your balance goes to zero.
That could result in several reports per month, but it's the zero that triggers them.
Am I out of date on this?
Hi Gunnar. I think you have it right. Chase always reports at the end of the statement. Additionally, if your balance goes to zero in the middle of the billing cycle, they will report that zero at that point as well. But that's the only thing that triggers an additional report, as far as I know.
Blondy, let us know if we are mistaken.
