How often is “one year”?

According to some law, you are allowed to get one free credit report from each of the bureaus in one year.

My doubt is if you get a report in October 2014, then is the next free report available in October 2015, i.e. after 365 days, or one in 2014-2015, one in 2015-2016 and so on?

Re: How often is “one year”?

As stated above, 12 months.  The AnnualCreditReport.com FAQ is a good place to start looking for answers to questions like this:

Re: How often is “one year”?

It is worth keeping in mind, though, that the "one year" rule applies separately to each credit reporting agency. Hence, you can actually get a free credit report every four months by spacing out your requests to the bureaus. If you do this, it is worth keeping in mind each bureau will have somewhat different information on file. It may still take up to a year to see something on your credit report if it is only reported to one .

Re: How often is “one year”?

I order one free one every 4 months from each agency. It helps to keep track of my credit over the year vs. pulling all 3 at the same time. January is usually Experian - April is Transunion - August is Equifax - then repeat.
