How to Deal with an unauthorized credit card being opened and charged off

My brother is going though a divorce, his soon to be EXWife took out a PINK credit card under his name and hasnt paid on it for 60-66 days late. It is really hurting his score. How should be deal with such a thing?

Unfortunately he is probably going to have to file a police report.

Also, the company may require you to file an FTC ID theft affidavit.

Immediately notify the creditor that the account was fraudulently opened.

The credit reporting implications are then addressed by filing a police report and sending to the CRA, and using the identity theft blocking provision of FCRA 605B.

That info in the sticky is pretty staight forward and should help you resolve this issue. I'd think once you follow through with it all, everything he'd need to get it taken care should be enough to resolve this.
