Hello all,
I applied for a Capital One Quicksilver Card, and was denied because there is an old Fraud Alert on my Equifax Credit File.
They informed me that if I could remove it before 30 days, they could revisit my application without having another 3 hard pulls.
Does anyone know the quickest way to get these off? I went to Equifax's website and it looks like they ask you to submit your request in writing along with proof of ID.
I cant imagine I'm the only one who has needed this to be removed quickly.
Transunion on the other hand, allowed me to call them directly and were able to authenticate me over teh phone and removed then and there.
Can anyone help?I dont want to have applied for Capital One and suffered the 12 point credit ding from the inquiries for nothing!
I appreciate you guys

The only options are to add a Fraud Alert , not to remove them- any ideas? I really appreciate your help!

1-888-766-0008
Thank you! Had great success with 1-877-784-2528 - sent me directly to a customer service representative who was very nice, I didnt even need to provide my Credit Report File # (but did have to answer a ton of security questions). The rep gave me a confirmation # and let me know the maximum time it would take is 48 hours, but would likely be removed by tomorrow. YAY!
Once again this forum has proved to be tremendously helpful!
