An incorrect address is repeatedly being reported to the CRBs. I dispute it and it often goes away. My guess is that a closed account is reporting it to the CRBs.
Is there a way to see which creditor is reporting this address?
Background: this is an address that my ex moved to seven years ago and moved out of three years ago. I don't have a single open account today that I previously shared with my ex, that's why I'm guessing that it's a closed account. Since she hasn't lived there for three years, I'm assuming that she's not pulling any shenanigans because the address was just reported again yesterday.
Thanks for any tips!
Addresses only get updated when someone makes a report, so it's not likely a closed account.
Not entirely sure if there's a way to tell without perhaps calling the bureau and asking who the idiot is... all of my addresses are a bit broken by some amount on all the bureaus (minor things except for EQ which has it's head up it's arse on this isssue) and I've given up hope of getting it corrected in all places.
Generally it doesn't impact much so isn't worth worrying about, only "real" issue I've had is trying to pull my report from EQ online but a lot of others have that issue without the address fun anyway. EQ just sorta sucks on that one .
Yeah, I dont see it as a big problem but it certainly is an annoyance. It does make authentication a bit difficut sometimes when CRBs or others ask "which address have you lived at" and now I hacve to remember my ex's address and remember that according to the CRB, I've lived there.
Thanks.
You can call/email each of your creditors that are listed on your credit reports and double check they only have one correct address for you.
I would also check Lexis Nexus.
And watch your reports daily just in case any signs of fraud appear.

Yes!
On Experian look for the Address Identification Number for the Creditor
Then match that with the Address Identification Number under your Personal Information
This information is only available when you obtain your credit report directly from Experian.
Hope that helps
