Inquiries still reporting after 2 years

[ Edited ]

HI there. I've split your post off to start a new thread. All I changed is the title.

If an inquiry is over 2 years old but is still appearing on your Credit Report, what is the best way to remove it?

Re: Inquiries still reporting after 2 years

An informal call/letter to the CRA.

Yu definately dont want to file a dispute.  It is not an issue of inaccuracy of reporting by a furnisher, and a dispute will result in a dispute flag being placed in your credit file.

Removal of inquiries after two years is totally an admininstrative practice on the part of the CRAs, similar to the decision by FICO not to score them after one year.

The FCRA imposes no such requirement.

Thank you RobertEG - may I ask what you mean by "dispute flag being placed in your credit file."

I wouldn't worry about them ~ they will likely fall off soon, they aren't being scored by FICO, and are probably being ignored by creditors.
