Is it possible to get PFD with BOA? How do I word it? How much do I pay?

I have several questions and would appreciate an answer:

1. If I am going to do a PFD with BOA - they are the OC - what amount should I send them (total now owing according to them is $3,600)?

2. How do I word the PFD? I understand that wording is important. I read the PFD letter on this site, however it only applies to a CA.

3. What happens if they turn down the PFD? Am I in worse condition? Right now I have at least got the department head on the phone, who is decent to work with. It seems that I cannot get them to do a PIF for less than the full $3,600 ($1,500 + interest AFTER CO in June 2004.

4. They said that they are going to be closing their internal recovery dept down and outsourcing to CA, etc. Should I risk taking longer and having this turned over to a CA?

I agree with Timothy, my DH had a BofA CO back in 2001, it was purchased by Midland.  If you get a CA like them, you will have nothing but grief.  Work out a payment plan with BofA if you can't do it all at once.  Best part about it they may even reopen the account after you complete the payoff. 

I wish I knew then what I know now!! 

A JDB CA will hurt your score way more than a charge off on the original account because they don't play by the rules.
