I agree with Timothy, my DH had a BofA CO back in 2001, it was purchased by Midland. If you get a CA like them, you will have nothing but grief. Work out a payment plan with BofA if you can't do it all at once. Best part about it they may even reopen the account after you complete the payoff.
I wish I knew then what I know now!!
A JDB CA will hurt your score way more than a charge off on the original account because they don't play by the rules.
