Is "Portfolio Recovery Associates"..Licensed to collect in TX

If anyone knows where I can find this information please let me know. I checked on the net and couldn't get anything.  My DW already paid them but they are reporting so I'm trying to see if I can get them to delete if they are not licensed here. TIA

You may want to call your Secretary Of States office. They usually handle licensing issues.

Bummer!! I called the Secretary of State and apparently TX does not require a collection agency to have a licence to operate here. However they have to file a bond with the state and they didn that.  I have already paid them and was trying to get them to delete their tradeline but they kleep refusing. If I had found this board sooner this may not have happened. Anyone ever have any success with these people?
