One more question Smiley Very Happy Please bear with me.

Since the acct was opened in NH and I currently live in MA which SOL applies, NH at 3 yrs or MA at 4 years?

TIA!

I strongly believe it is based on where you opened the acct, otherwise we'd all move to places like NH.

either - and they will choose whichever one best serves THEIR purpose.  FCRA spells out where you can be sued by a debt collector - where it originated or where you currently live.  They can't do it somewhere that you have never been (just to be sneaky and cause you expense).  Usually they go for where you live (unless SOL is longer in the other place) - because it's easier and less costly to serve you.

Thanks llecs and Lady_scarlet!

I cant thank you enough for clearing all this up for me! You guys are the best.

I'll be sending out DV letters to them and see what happens.

Thanks once again.

When this comes to some kind of resolution(keep my fingers crossed) I'll post the details so someone else in my position will have some guidelines.
