In March I made a settlement on a credit card with a collection company. We agreed on an amount to settle the acct. The amt was less than the balance due but paid as agreed. I am now receiving mail from a law office stating that I have an opportunity to reinstate my charge prilveges with the credit card I had settled. The amt they want is what the difference was at settlement $410.00. Basically it is the amt they did not get. This is now showing on my credit report as being owed rather than the balance as zero/settled with the credit card company. I did just issue a dispute with equifax and transunion. Please advise. I am trying hard to clean up my past mess, and this is not helping. Thanks so much.
