This is why having good credit really pays, especially in our economy today. After moving my score up to 682 from 644 (by paying util. down and with 2 accounts to go to update - hopefully hitting 700 soon), I was able to take my car payment down 100 bucks today and refi my house with an FHA loan at 6 percent and save 500 bucks a month. This is with a DISCHARGED bk in 2003 and with 5-6 accounts still showing with 0 balances and either included in bankruptcy or some with derog statuses. If I can do it, anyone can! P.S. it was with my credit union and they used Experian. The home loan is with countrywide.
