LVNV screwing with my wife's reports

Those wonderful folks at LVNV apparently bought my wife's old old Citibank account from the late 1990s. They sent notification in early June, but I didn't DV. Now it is showing up on all 3, and has been re-aged to July 2007. There has been no further contact as of yet, but I am wondering how to proceed? It's only about $700 (which means they probably paid $7 for it), and it would not be a hardship to pay it off, but I am morally opposed to paying a debt out of statute to some scum-sucking bottom feeder CA.

thanks

Re: LVNV screwing with my wife's reports

LVNV really is a scum bottom feeder. I'd do three things:

1. Contact someone HIGH-UP at Citibank and ask them to work out a settlement with you directly so that LVNV cannot benefit

2. Contact the CEO of LVNV and demand that they send the account back to Citibank

3. Send LVNV a written cease and desist to that CEO, and also demand a signed copy of the original credit agreeement with Citibank.
