Large number of inquiries on Experian credit report

Looks like the monitoring service you use does not distinguish between soft inquiries and hard inquiries. Have you tried pulling an official report from one of the CRA's?

I actually pulled that credit report from the Experian website for $14.95, so I hope it is legit...

I pulled the official, free copy which has a different layout.

Experian (and the other two) will try to sell you one of their services. It's easy to get wrapped up in that and they don't make it very easy just to get the full report. It should be $11 or some even number like that. And as always you can get it for free once per year via annualcreditreport.com.

You can get one for free following pretty much every time a lender pulls an inquiry on you as a result of a credit card application.
