Man do I have a good one for ya all!

Ok, My wife was signed on as an authorized user to a citi visa from her father a long time ago. My wife ended up putting the card on a debt consolidation she did with Incharge. Well citi accepted Incharge and has collected over $3,000 from incharge in the last 2 years and the balance is going down like it should. Her credit report is reported as a charge off once Incharge started the debt consolidation AND citi WILL NOT talk to my wife at all regarding the account because she is just an authorized user. Her credit is destroyed, She is the one that makes payments and yet they will not speak to her.

I talked to a supervisor at Incharge and she said that is bull and if they won't talk to her because she is just an authorized user then she demans them to delete any file information they have on her because she never signed a contract with them.

What do you guys think the steps are here to help my wife get this off her credit without hurting her dad if possible???

Re: Man do I have a good one for ya all!

I would dispute to the CRAs as "not mine".

A word of caution - disputing as "not mine" will likely cause the CRA to place a fraud alert on her  account. I think I might dispute as "inaccurate information" instead.

But, yes, dispute.

Ok, I could try doing that. I could send CMRRR and should I put a copy that incharge has been paying this account or what do you think?

Re: Man do I have a good one for ya all!

You can have an AU removed at anytime, that is the beauty of AU. It is not a joint (or co-signer) account, so she is not obligated to make the payments. UNless she made the charges, then she still should pay, but if she didn't she should not pay.

BTW, it is already hurting her dad as it was reported as a charge-off and he is the primary. so she may want to get it fixed (if the charges are hers) for him because that would not be fair. Unfortunately, he cannot just dispute and say remove these because he is the primary account holder. Also, that is really why they did not talk to her.

Re: Man do I have a good one for ya all!

For some reason his account was just shows working with debt conolidation. His credit never showed a CO just hers did. Obviuosly they realized they messed up...

She also didn't want to hurt her dad so she had checked this out when she noticed hers said CO.

We are going to contune to pay through the incharge account but happy that it is now off her credit.
