Mortgage that has been refinanced showing as acct open

I have a mort. account that has been re financed and has not had any reporting for 2 yrs but on my CR it shows as the account being open...........is it hurting me? correct it leave it alone??? Thanks

An open mortgage won't hurt your FICO score...if anything, it's helping.

However, if you go for another mortgage, a lender might hesitate to approve you, since that first mortgage that was refi'ed will make you look more indebted than you actually are.

Does it still show the balance or is it $0 (yet open status)? If it is at a $0 balance, I would leave it alone for as long as I could, as it will remain on the CR for up to 10 years after closing it. If it never closes, it will help you for a lonnnnnggg time.

If it is showing a balance--For the latter reason stated by TNWM, I would be a bit concerned about it. D/I ratio, too many accounts with balances, util...
