Congrats on the new truck. Looks like I wasn't the only one to get into another car this weekend.

oh and congrats btw. but this doesn't really belong in credit cards lol. probably "fico scoring" or "auto lending" or even smorgasbord lol.
Thanks! I was so excited I thought I was posting in the rebuilding section and put it in the wrong section, thats what I get for having 3 different myfico tabs open reading lol!

@Anonymous wrote:Sweet! Congratulations on the new truck. You have to do what you think is best. If you had gone through a loan application it should have only been 1 inquiry. It's common when car shopping and home shopping.
The last time I had 12 hits across all 3 and not all were coded correctly and they wouldnt fix them so it would count as 1 on each report. It was worse than capital ones tripple pull, and I had to ride it out . Kinda gave me cold feet this time!
But, either way. You did what's best for you. Only you know your situation!
Again, congratulations on the new wheels! Enjoy it!
Thanks!!!
The coding is actually a bit more wonky than that, I had the chance to really watch my scores closely during the mortgage process and even some inquiries that were coded as Miscellaneous absolutely got rolled up into the single inquiry. They were from obvious mortgage credit file pullers (CBC/Innovis was one and they're absolutely massive in that market) so it was done correctly... and I suspect that both auto loan shopping and student loan shopping probably have similar where the name of the pull matters in addition to the actual coding of it.
Anyway congrats on the new ride!
I think ultimately, one has to do what makes the most sense financially. If you would have spent more in interest on the new truck than you would on having CC balances not paid down, then it makes financial sense.
