Hey all, it's Eve.

Question..  I just got a letter from a collection agency for a hospital here.  It is for $50 and I am willing to pay it because it is my responsibility from when I was in the hospital earlier this year.  I think it is my Emergency room copay that they never charged me when I came in.

Anyway, I have not seen this collection on my CR yet, but I am sure if it is with the CA it has to show up sooner or later, right?  I really can't afford a new collection right now and have it reporting for 7 years, credit already jacked up.  Any advice?

Contact them, find out what it is about.  Some people on here have had success paying collections before they get on their report, so if you can pay $50 and prevent it from reporting go for it.

BUT!

Make sure everything is in writing, just in case.
