New twist on the TC banning story....

Got the dreaded email last night from TC (which I have via Chase IP)

Protecting the privacy of your personal information is of utmost importance to TransUnion.

That's why when there are too many attempts to login to an account, we temporarily suspend access to the account. This helps to protect our members' privacy.

Today we noticed that there were numerous attempts to login to your account, so we've temporarily locked it to ensure that your information remains safe and secure. Please be aware that this also suspends any email alerts that you usually receive.

So I called.  Said whats up?  They asked for my name, SS# and then said - "Now that you have verified your identity, you can access your account"

Went to Chase IP, logged on and got a new account, no sweat.

Interesting

And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Were the 'attempts' your own logins or was somone really trying to hack your account?

I logged on and then subsequently logged on again and updated.  No change in my pattern over the last couple of months.

If someone else was trying something they did not pursue the matter very diligently!  And it was via Chase

M.V. don't fret over it. It happens to me weekly. I tend to forget my passwords, and just try the shotgun approach. Try a variety of them...maybe one will work. HaHa! Then i get the dreaded lock out notice like you did.

It really doesn't bother me, as it's a security device in place, and security is a good thing nowadays.

I am not really worrued - it was just odd.  If I was logging in wrongly, it would have been to Chase
