OC vs CA question

Can two people report on the same debt? What I mean by that is....If the original creditor reports it then sells it to a CA can both of them report that? The original creditor shows as charged off as bad debt. Then the CA that bought it is showing it as a bad debt also. Isn't this like double reporting the same thing...which would be two baddies? Hope someone understands me....ughhhSmiley Mad

Re: OC vs CA question

Yes- the OC and the CA can report it.
No double jeopardy in credit reporting.

Thanks Timothy! Sure doesn't seem fair...but as my mom says..."who ever said life was fair?"

Re: OC vs CA question

I had this same question. So since it is legit that it be on the report from both the OC and the CA, do you have to pay or dispute each separately? I truly hope not...
