This ex-shovel and ice scraper owner non-fondly remembers your pain. I've since moved to sunny FL and am enjoying the fact that I don't have to:
Start my car 30 minutes before I leave,
Shovel my drive, clean off the car, shovel the drive around the car again, then shovel the pile of snow the snow-plow driver left at the end of my drive,
Scrape the 1/4 in thick layer of ice off my windshield
Have to wear gloves, knit hats, scarves, or snow boots
Have ice cold feet(nose, ears, fingers) that feel like they will never thaw
Have chapped lips, nose and lips
Push my car out of a snowdrift or ditch
Wait 4 months to wash the road salt off my car
Pay 3 to 5 times the normal utility bill for December and January
Have to walk across parking lots slipping, stepping in frozen slush, against sub zero winds
Having to hear the 'real' temperature given in Wind Chill Factor
I have felt your pain - and wish you all the best.
