Re: Once and for all.....

Typical pendulum-swing reaction...first they give a mortgage to anyone who can fog a mirror, and then when that doesn't work they swing to the other extreme and require the credit rating of Satan with at least 20% down.

My advice to anyone looking to buy a home is to wait...this will settle out, probably to buyers' advantage.

Re: Once and for all.....

If you CAN get a mortgage there sure are a lot of spare houses for sale!!  Trouble is, if you are looking to move and sell a house......
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

no remember every lender follows its own requirements Also things are changing all the time. Banks do not want anymore repos. If you can take your time & keep looking for better rates.

Floating here in a not-to-be-disclosed area of the Chesapeake Bay, but I could cut the dock lines and be gone tomorrow.

Re: Once and for all.....

I got a mortgage through Wells Fargo with about a 580-600 FICO. It has an adjustable rate which I think is considered subprime, but the difference in the rate was negligible.
Here we go again...
