Opt-in

As part of the Fraud report for bad addresses on my credit report I am being told I am opted out for 6 months on pre screened offers.  Is there any way to opt back in?  It would be nice to know whos shopping list I am on.

Re: Opt-in

While a fraud alert may invoke an opt-out as part of its protection, FCRA 604(c) permits a consumer to remove an opt-out by simple notification to the CRA, and presence of a fraud alert does not preclude an opt-in.

I'm not sure whether some admin polcy of the CRAs may affect ability to opt-in while the fraud alert is still in affect, but there is no statutory link between the two.

I would simply send the CRA a recission of the opt-out, and see if it works.

And, as stated, if the CRA does impose some admin link between the two, you can always simply rescind the fraud alert.  The FCRA permits a consumer to rescind any fraud alert at any time.
