granny, if the OC still owns the account(hopefully that is the case), PFD them.
Have NO contact with the CA at all, under any circumstances.
When you negotiate with the OC for payment in full, make part of your arrangement to have them provide you with an original duplicate of the letter of instructions, telling CA to delete the collection from your CR's.
